Describe your work: My thesis research focuses on how viruses evolve, and how a new virus variant outcompetes its wildtype peers to gain dominance.
How long have you been with OSU? For about 4 years. I first came to OSU as a Research Scholar, and then I joined the Plant Pathology PhD program in 2021.
Tell us about your family/pets: I met my husband (John) three days after arriving in Wooster. We have no kids yet, but our house is full of plants :)
What is your hometown? Jataí, a town in the middle of Brazil.
What is something you would like to learn? More about Biochemistry.
What is your favorite restaurant or food? Brazilian barbecue.
What is a talent or superpower you wish you had? To be able to travel in time. Can you image how awesome it would be to be able to see how things were and will be, and be able to change the future?
Where is your favorite place to vacation? My family farm in Brazil!
Who is your hero? I have many! All the amazing people changing the world and helping humankind to evolve.
