Who is your hero: My paternal grandmother, Anna. She immigrated to the U.S. and settled on a farm in Southern Ohio with my grandfather, who had a job working in the mines. My grandfather passed away at an early age from illness relating to the mines, so my grandmother was left to raise 10 kids by herself. Impacts were felt through The Great Depression, war, and rationing. Her eldest son was killed in Germany during WW2. Through all of this and getting by with speaking only broken English, she lived to the age 88 with 23 grandchildren. Thus, I am here today!
