Directors’ Message Didn’t it seem like the summer came so quickly this year? Yet our campus and college accomplished so much since our last newsletter in May. Our Wooster Farm Crew was able to get many of our research and field trials planted, and, despite the brief drought, the crops are looking great. ATI celebrated 50 years at their commencement in May and has already held several orientation events to welcome the incoming class of first-year students. There will be several other events on campus this summer, including Wooster Staff Council’s FunFest on July 21 from 11-1. See our events section below for more information. This issue also includes short articles from Dr. Ashley Leach (new faculty in Entomology), Debbie Shaffer and the Wooster Campus Conference Center, Jason Veil from the Secrest Arboretum, and Wooster Staff Council’s Spotlight on Staff. At the recent Wooster Staff Council’s Annual Meeting, I talked about our Wooster Points of Pride (Wooster POPS!). With new hires, new students, new facilities, new projects, and new collaborations, we have a lot to be proud of on the Wooster Campus. Let’s continue these efforts this summer and as we look to the start of the Autumn 2023 semester! Dr. Andy Michel & Dr. Kris Boone |
