Name your title & department: Kylie Ramirez, College and Regional Recruiting and Enrollment Specialist, Ohio State ATI Admissions
Describe your work: As an admissions counselor, I recruit future Buckeyes by traveling across eastern Ohio to visit high schools and attend college fairs. When I’m not on the road, I’m on campus meeting with students and families, planning and gathering social media content, and finding new and creative ways to connect with our different audiences.
How long have you been with OSU? I started in late January, so I’ve been on staff for about nine months. Before that, I was a student beginning in fall 2020, which is where I discovered my passion for Ohio State ATI and the admissions office. Even when I transitioned to the Columbus campus, my number one goal was always to return and work on the Wooster campus.
Tell us about your family/pets: I don’t currently have pets of my own, but I adore my two golden retriever “niece and nephew,” Amiri and Hank.
What is your hometown? I grew up on my family’s farm in Holmes County, just outside of Killbuck, Ohio.
What is something you would like to learn? I would like to learn how to crochet or quilt.
What is your favorite restaurant or food? My favorite restaurant is Texas Roadhouse, mainly for the dinner rolls!
What is a talent or superpower you wish you had? Never forget names and faces. Both in my personal and professional life.
Where is your favorite place to vacation? Growing up, my grandparents had a house in Florida where we made countless memories. Although we no longer have it, if I could vacation anywhere, I’d go back there.
Who is your hero? My hero is my great-grandpa, Paul Baker. He had an incredible impact on my life growing up and truly shaped who I am today. He was not only a father figure to me, but also taught me how to find my passions, work toward my goals, and live a faith-centered life.
